Good Samaritan Orphanage, Fort Liberte, Haiti
Our primary humanitarian work in Haiti involves our support of the Good Samaritan Orphanage. This orphanage was founded in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Anilus Justin in 1989. This facility is owned and operated by these two amazing people. We do not oversee it; we simply provide the funds to keep it in operation. The couple has other sources of income, but they have never received a salary for their work with the orphanage. Presently, there are 41 children in the orphanage, aged 4 to 18. Mr. and Mrs. Justin feed the kids well and are able to offer medical attention as Mrs. Justin is also a nurse.
The Starfish Foundation has taken on several initiatives to upgrade the orphanage during our years of support, including:
Purchasing Mattresses
Purchasing a Generator for Limited Electricity in the Evenings
Installing a Water Filtration System
Finishing Unfinished Rooms
Building an All-Purpose Concrete Block Building (Kitchen & Dining Room)
Buying & Converting an Adjoining Unfinished House into Dormitories
Purchasing a Playground Area
And More
Sponsorships

New sponsors are always needed as existing sponsors can drop out for various reasons. One-time contributions are used to pay for:
